Dermalogica is looking for a dynamic, high performing individual for the exciting role of Brand consultant within our sales team the Western Cape and surrounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dermalogica Business Consultant is responsible for driving profitable, sustainable growth across an assigned territory by acting as a trusted commercial partner to customers within the core (professional skin care channel)

This role goes beyond order-taking. The Business Consultant is accountable for:

  • Sell-in and sell-out performance
  • New business development – prospecting and securing new business with the portfolio
  • Education and event execution
  • Brand and business standards in trade

The BC builds strong, long-term partnerships that grow both the customer’s business and Dermalogica’s footprint.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Sales & Commercial Performance
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Drive sell-in aligned to sell-out performance
  • Analyse performance by customer, category, and SKU
  • Share PY, YTD, and trend data with customers to guide decisions
  • Build customer plans focused on growth, profitability, and retention
  • Ensure healthy stock levels, range compliance, and replenishment

 

  1. New Business Development (Critical Focus)
  • Proactively identify, prospect, and convert new doors
  • Build and manage a strong lead pipeline
  • Conduct professional new business presentations and proposals
  • Open new accounts in line with brand standards and strategic criteria
  • Onboard new customers with structured launch plans
  • Achieve agreed new door and revenue targets

The BC is expected to consistently feed the top of the funnel and treat new business as a core discipline.

  1. Business Consulting & Customer Growth
  • Conduct professional business reviews with customers
  • Identify opportunities in retail, treatments, education, and events
  • Develop quarterly growth plans with key customers
  • Support customers to improve:
  • Sell-out
  • Average basket value
  • Event ROI
  • Treatment and retail conversion
    • Position Dermalogica as a strategic growth partner

 

  1. Education & Event Activation
  • Drive education attendance and utilisation
  • Partner with Education to address performance gaps
  • Build and execute commercially focused events
  • Ensure all events have:
  • Clear objectives
  • Sell-out targets
  • Post-event analysis

 

  1. Brand & In-Store Excellence
    • Ensure brand standards are upheld in all doors
    • Maintain VM, testers, hygiene, and merchandising excellence
    • Execute launches, campaigns, and seasonal initiatives
    • Be the guardian of Dermalogica’s professional positioning

 

  1. Territory & Relationship Management
  • Build strong multi-level relationships (owners, managers, therapists, front desk)
  • Maintain consistent call cycles and visit frequency
  • Manage time and territory effectively
  • Log activity, opportunities, and outcomes accurately on sales CRM
  • Follow through on all commitments

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Proven experience in field sales / business development
  • Track record of new business acquisition
  • 2-3 years Experience in professional beauty, medical aesthetics, FMCG, or pharmaceutical sales (advantageous)
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable working with targets, data, and CRM systems
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within territory

Work Environment:
